Willow had ran ahead of the group in her eagerness. She sat on the sidewalk waiting for them to catch up. She wished they would go faster. This is so exciting, Willow screamed in her head. Maybe she would have a chance on the streets after all. She looked around a bit while she waited. The streets were really crumby. Honestly nothing to get worked up about. It was all dumpsters, trashcans, and alleys. She was getting anxious and was unsure what might be lurking in the shadows of the alleyways. She felt safer at the park just because it was a friendlier looking environment. But looks could be deceiving, couldn't they?

The surface of the juice puddle rippled as a wet tongue lapped at the colored liquid. Eclipse wrinkled her nose at the strange taste before stretching a paw forward, the white fur dirtied by the grime of the streets.
She poked at the upturned juice bottle which the puddle had spilled from, flipping it over and letting the rest of the juice pour outwards.
Muzzle slightly stained by the juice, Eclipse looked up, distracted by the sound of pawsteps. It was the Blue Heeler from the restaurant. She pricked her ears in curiosity. What was that female doing here?

Zaida shook her head as she ran after Willow. It was a bit dangerous to run in this city. She had learned the selfsame lesson a month ago, when her life was almost put in danger. “That was not safe thing to do, Willow,” she said as soon as she caught up with Willow. “We must wait for the others now. I have heard that the humans are more actively seeking dogs for fights, and even in your condition, they still might use you for fodder for other fighting dogs.”

Valor ran after Zaida and Willow, rolling his eyes at the actions of the two females. "Zaida, they'll want you more than they'll want her. If she is caught, they'll most likely use her as a training tool for the younger competitors." He muttered seriously as he managed to catch up with the fawn-colored dog. "You, on the other hand, are an able-bodied dog, and one who knows how to fight no less. They'll have more use for you. Don't forget, they tried to take you off the streets for that reason once before." And if I had decided to leave her to her fate, who knows what could've happened to her. To this day, I still wonder why I didn't just mind my own business. Looking towards Willow, Valor shook his head. Rather than staying put to wait for Rifle, he went on ahead into the darker parts of the alley.

Willow frowned at Zaida. "Oh. I'm sorry...." Willow looked at her paws. Willow shivered at the thought of humans forcing other dogs to fight. How entertaining it would be to put them in a ring and make them battle to the death. Willow smiled at the idea. "Does anybody know where Rifle went? He's even slower than me," she licked her hind leg. "And what about Valor? He just scolded you for coming! And now he's frolicking in dark alleys!" Willow shrugged. "It's not my fault if he's dog-napped." Willow stood up when she saw Eclipse, the dog from La Fiesta. She turned away and started talking to Zaida again. She didn't want the dog to see her all eager and junk.

Zaida shivered at the memory of when she was almost captured by those humans. She had thought at first that they wanted to bring her home, but then found out from Valor that they had worse plans for her. Never again would she think that humans were neural beings...but she would never agree with Valor about other dogs. "Yes, but I would have a greater chance if captured. Willow would be lucky for instant death...I do not need reminder either, Val-or. That was day that you refused me because I could not fight, could not defend. I am getting better. You will see!" The tan dog turned back to Willow and replied, "Rifle might not have expected you to run ahead; he will come. And Val-or? He is very cautious. When he scolds, at least I know he cares. He is very sweet, but he does not show that often because he was hurt to many times, by humans, by other dogs. When he does not scold, I worry. Besides, he is right; I do not want to fight others because in first fight I would die. I promised Ch-my instructor I would never attack another, only defend." /Why do I feel reluctant to name Chucho by name? He's a nice dog, but he's no Val-or!/

Valor's torn ear twitched upon hearing Zaida's opinion of him. Well, at least she understands me. "It's alright. The dog and cat scents around here are more fresh than the humans. We don't have anything to worry about." He barked as he reappeared from the shadows, shaking the dust out of his fur. "I only ran ahead to see if any of the gangs had been here. The Asesinos are the ones you need to fear, but I don't want to be recruited by the Guardians either. I really don't want to get caught up in their neverending fight." The wolf-gray dog then turned to Willow. "Just so you know, the Asesinos aren't the only bad ones in this city. There's a gang of cats called the Arteros. They're just as bad as the Asesinos, but are also twice as cunning. I suppose you didn't know that the cats around here can be just as bad as the dogs, right?"

Willow frowned. "Cats? I'm a hunting dog. No problem. But I trust that they are dangerous. So cats are the brains and dogs are the weapons? And if you don't mind me asking," Willow paused a second to think. "Where did you come from? And what does Zaida mean by 'hurt many times by humans and dogs'?" She down. She guessed it would be quite awhile before Rifle caught up. Maybe he had been sidetracked? Willow glanced over at the dog she had seen at the restaurant. When Valor had answered her questions she would go chat with her.

"Cats can harm you without directly fighting you,"Zaida said, shaking her head. Looking toward Valor, she wondered how he'd respond to Willow's question. After all, he never was very open about his past, not even to Zaida. All she knew about him was before he was abandoned and the times he was abandoned. She didn't know much about what had happened to him later... except of course the times she was there for of course... The tan dog sat down on the sidewalk, partially in the shadow of the nearby wall and pulled her tail close to her paws. She was lucky to know what she knew. Of course she wasn't a dog who pried, but part of her was hoping Valor would tell something.

The sound of voices caught the attention of a large Rottweiler who was sitting high up above the alley way on the porches attached to the side of an old crumbling apartment building. Usually the leader of the Asesinos wouldn't come out of Asesinos territory but now that the beast Anubis had been killed, the Asesinos weren't following their normal guidelines. Most of the time the lower ranked Asesinos would search the Asesinos' territory, waiting for an unsuspecting stray to stumble upon them and then they would take them back to the headquarters of the Asesinos. An old warehouse in the abandoned part of town where it always seemed to be dark no matter how sunny it was outside. Dark red eyes glowed in the dimly lit alleyway that a group of strays were now gathering in. A sly grin slid across the muzzle of the Rottweiler and he rose to his paws before padding down the stairs of the iron porch so he could be a bit closer to the ground but remain in the shadows as well. At first he just listened to their simple conversation and smiled even broader when he heard them speaking of the Asesinos and the Arteros. An eerie chuckle escaped his jaws and it echoed around the alleyway, making it almost impossible to tell where it was coming from. Sure the Arteros were dangerous but they didn't go after stray dogs much. The Rottweiler found it rather funny that they would even think about the Arteros as much of a threat. The Arteros were only a threat in numbers. The Rottweiler's claws scratched across the metal floor that he now stood on, high above the alley floor below where the other strays were. "Cuidado." The Rottweiler spoke the single word just loud enough for it to bounce off the brick walls and reach the ears of the strays below. They had a right to be scared. For he was Feroz.

Valor took a deep breath. "Let's just say my master and his other dogs weren't too kind to me back in my hunting dog days." He muttered before hearing a strange voice. The wolf-gray dog began sniffing the air, taking a defensive stance upon recognizing the scent of the Asesinos. "Zaida, Willow, run as fast as you can. Get out of here before he decides to show up." Valor growled as he looked around for the dog, snarling and bearing his teeth in an effort to ignore his fear. I've only found their trails, but this is the first time I've ever crossed paths with one of them. The stray began looking around in hopes of finding the vicious dog. He's around here somewhere! That much I'm sure of! "You may as well show yourself!" Valor growled, knowing full well that he was most likely insulting the malicious dog. "I know you Asesinos are not cowards, so why do you hide from a small group of dogs who are obviously inferior to you?!"
ooc: That's a very nice pic of Feroz, Swifty.

Willow stood up."What is that fool doing? He sounds and looks so ridiculous!" Willow hadn't met an Asesinos yet and now they seemed like a mere myth. Besides, Valor had checked for gangs. Didn't he? Willow stood up. If he was an Asesinos than he'd have a hard time getting Willow to surrender her friends. Even though her leg was broken her brain was still working and by the looks of it those dogs didn't have any brains! It was probably the cats doing the thinking and the dogs doing the attacking. As she waited for the dog to approach them she mentally prepared herself for death. Or worse. Where is Rifle when you need him most?

Willow looked at Valor. "And leave you to face him? Never! Besides he'll find me anyways!" She longed to be under the park bench right now. Willow had never been face-to-face with anything so lethal. The huge Rottweiler could swallow her whole. It would be smart to run with Zaida but for some reason she couldn't leave Valor's side. Maybe it was because she felt the same pain that Valor felt. Only he felt it worse. Besides Zaida would be heartbroken if Valor died. And if Valor died tonight Willow would blame it on herself. She'd rather die then live with that burden for the rest of her life.

Rifle finally found Valor, Willow and Zaida all in an alley. It wasn't the alley he was going to go to but it would work none the less. He showed up just in time to hear the eerie chuckle and then the single word cuidado which Rifle knew meant beware in spanish. He came over to stand next to Valor and Willow, his honey brown eyes searching the shadows of the alley desperately trying to find the source of the voice. Though seeing wouldn't have mattered because he already knew who the owner of the voice was and standing and fighting was not the best way to handle this situation. "It's Feroz. The leader of the Asesinos." Rifle said simply, glancing over at the two females and then turning to face Rifle, all hostility against the male gone for the moment. "I know it's him. He was born and raised on these streets. He speaks Spanish unlike most strays, even ones who have been here for a long time." Rifle explained, still searching for the dog of the shadows. ooc: Sorry for taking so long to reply guys.

A low chuckle rumbled up from the Rottweiler's chest as he watched this gray and brown mutt snarling at the shadows and everything that moved, demanding that he show himself. A smirk remained on the Asesinos' leader's face as he tilted his head to one side a little, his dark red eyes observing the dogs below, evaluting them. The Blue Heeler was obviously the weakest link. Her leg was broken and she was a pet that most likely got dumped on the streets. She was good for nothing more than being a chew toy for the Asesinos pups. The Ridgeback however seemed to be a bit more promising but it was clear she wasn't the best fighter just by looking at her stance. It was easy to tell she was from somewhere else judging by her accent. And with some intense obedience and battle training, she might be able to be a scout but she seemed to attached to these other dogs to ever be trusted to do anything more than that. The two males were different though. The smaller of the two looked more like a small wolf than an actual dog though a wolf wouldn't last in the streets because it's instincts were all wrong for this sort of territory. But this male seemed to have the characteristics of a German Shepherd and maybe a little Husky as well. But whatever his breed there was no way he would be able to be anything more than a mutt for the new recruits to practice their fighting skills on. And even then he would only last until he was killed which most likely wouldn't take very long. Which meant he probably wasn't even worth the trouble. The last male who was large than the others looked a lot like a wolf as well though he seemed to be a bit taller than a wolf and not as stocky as one. Could he be one of those Saarloos Wolfhounds he had heard about? Surely not, those dogs were bred far from here and it would be extremely unlikely for him to be of those orgins. Although, no matter what his breed, he woud be an excellent addition to the Asesinos. Though there was something about him that made him seem hard to break. His spirit seemed strong and the battle to retrain him and teach him to kill would not be an easy one. Though if they succeed, he would be quite a threat. Once Feroz had finished sizing up all of the dogs, he straightened up, laying down on the porch platform he was now located on. His dark red eyes continued to look at them, watching with pleasure as they scrambled around, unsure of what to do.
